Walking boots, water, sunscreen, camera – everything that’ll kit you out for a day of hiking. Finding a good place to stay is key too. The Good Nite Inn Redlands is a perfect position as from there you’ll be able to head straight out and take in the scenery. Just make sure you’re up to date with the Good Nite Inn check in time so you can make the best use of your time with us. Now, let’s look at the top three places to explore.
# 1 San Bernardino National Forest
It’s definitely worth the drive to the San Bernardino National Forest (but don’t worry, it’s not a long one) as it’s likely you’ll spend all day there. In fact, you might keep coming back as there’s so much to do. It’s perfect for hikers, with different routes to take each time you visit but don’t just limit it to your walking shoes. You could take a horseback ride through the forests, heading high up to take in the views of the mountains. And the views truly are breathtaking – lush foliage, sparking rivers and mountains in the distance – the photographer in you will have a field day. Don’t forget to check out Aztec Falls if you fancy a splash in the water or even take part in some waterfall diving!
#2 Lincoln Memorial Shrine
This is much more than just a shrine though. As well as a memorial to Abraham Lincoln, the building is situated in an iconic surrounding, that’s calm and tranquil and befitting the legend that is Abe Lincoln. The museum is free to attend and gives you the chance to learn about the times that Lincoln lived in as well as read some speech extracts engraved into the wall. It’s a great trip for all the family and as far as ‘scenes’ go, it’s one worth checking out.
#3 Box Springs Mountain
Back to more traditional scenery, Box Springs Mountain is the highest peak in the Box Springs Mountain Range and is perfect for hikers and explorers. Our guests have said that it roughly takes about an hour or a bit longer to reach the peak, but once they got to the top, the panoramic view of the city was beautiful. Why not try it out yourself?
